20, 30mm Drainage Cell
Sub Surface Drainage Cell System
Project Material drainage cell is available in both 20mm and 30mm configurations. Both sizes have been utilised in large scale projects around Australia with great success.
Designed and manufactured to the highest standards the modular system has become the drainage cell of choice for Architects, Builders & Landscapers for functionality and reliability.
Project Materials drainage cell provides a perfect solution for sub-soil drainage application such as creating successful roof gardens, planter boxes, laid underneath synthetic turf and behind retaining wall systems.
The 20 & 30mm drainage cell provides a uniform surface as well as an internal void space for effective draining of excess water.
The drainage cell has a unique diamond cup structure which provides water retention for passive irrigation and helps building a perch water table in the above soil profile for the vegetation to flourish in prolonged dry periods.
Both 20 & 30mm drainage cell is made from recycled Polypropylene and is inert to soil borne chemicals and bacteria. The shallow and effective drainage profile helps landscapers to make use of mature plants on roof garden which needs soil depth and water retention properties.
High Summer temperatures can cause thermal expansion in concrete and can cause waterproofing to crack, Project Material drainage cell system, due to its unique design and void properties help this heat to escape and hence reduce the risk of cracking, enhancing building life.
Drainage Cell Application
Drainage cell are used for sub-soil drainage such as:
- Landscape decks & planter boxes
- Plaza decks, balconies & pool sides
- Sports fields & golf courses
- Roof Gardens
- Concealed drains
- Retaining/basement walls
- Storm drains
- Pond filtration
- Infiltration & storage tanks
- Water Sensitive Urban Designs
- Groundwater management
- Sports field drainage
Drainage Cell Benefits
- High compressive strength in excess of 135t/m2
- High surface void area and internal void volume resulting in efficient water capture and discharge rates
- Modules that may be interlocked in one plane or at right angles to one another
- Resistance to biological attack and to a wide range of soil-borne chemicals
- Large pre-assembled panels that allow rapid installation and minimise on-site disruption
Drainage Cell Features
- Lightweight modules that allow easy handling and installation
- Approximately 2% of gravel aggregate weight for the same discharge capacity
- More predictable drainage capacity than gravel
- Narrow profile enables a greater soil depth to be utilised in planter beds, compared to gravel, allowing the use of a wider variety of landscape plants
- Relief of hydrostatic pressure on retaining walls
